Brook Maxwell and Jacob Richmond's Ride the Cyclone (High School Edition) takes audiences on a thrilling, moving, and at times darkly humorous journey with six high school choir students whose lives are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. In a bizarre twist of fate, when they awake in limbo, they can share their stories and win the ultimate prize - the chance to return to real life.
Each character in the show represents a different part of the high school experience, from the overachiever to the misunderstood artist, the outcast to the popular kid. Behind each stereotype lies a complex, deeply human story. This musical challenges us to look beyond the labels we're given and the personas we assume and encourages us to find empathy and understanding for those around us - something that feels especially relevant right now.
This show has been quite the journey…..I invite you to sit back and watch our show about how Ocean, Mischa, Noel, Constance and Ricky accept themselves and come to terms with who they are, even if life hasn't given them the chance to fully explore it all.
